LAUSD has a new tool in it's outreach efforts to engage students, parents and the community. The Grad Van provides a unique means of providing support and information to families across the distrcit that face logistical barriers in accessing school and community resources.
The Shuttle bus was donated by the Southern California Air Quality Management District and runs on clean compressed natural gas (CNG). The grad van is staffed by on duty PSA counselors and serves as a mobile information center to assist parents and students with:
- Enrollment and registration support
- Graduation information, credits earned A-G requirements
- Educational Options
- Attendance History
- Identifying resources needed for student success
The goals of the grad van are to:
- Promote & inform parents about LAUSD and Pupil Services
- Highlight the importance & significance of attendance to academic achievement
- Promote and explain superintendent’s performance meter
- Inform parents about Important District News such as per pupil funding, early start calendars and return to traditional calendar schools
The Grad Van is available for events anywhere in the district for school events, health fairs, resource fairs, parent meetings, or community events. If you are interested in having the Grad Van at an event please fill out the Request form and fax to Pupil Services.
