About Pupil Services
Mission
We are Child Welfare and Attendance professionals who support learning and promote the well being of all students. Our counselors and staff collaborate with schools, communities and families to empower students and motivate them to stay in school. We develop plans and strategies to maximize attendance and reduce school dropouts. Through dedication and leadership we overcome barriers which impede student achievement . We are advocates who guide students toward a successful educational experience.
Our Counselors function as liaisons between the home, the school, and the community. They provide direct services to the students and their families when a student exhibits school attendance, behavioral and/or academic problems. All Counselors in the Pupil Services Unit hold at least a Master’s and/or a Doctoral degree, in counseling, , social work or psychology. In addition they also possess a Pupil Personnel Services Credential and a Child Welfare and Attendance Credential.
